DESCRIPTION:The Lily’s Legacy Project offers you an exciting training opportunity in its final phase:\n  \nLondon Metropolitan Archives (LMA) Senior Archivists invite you to a half-day archive skills training for volunteers on 18 November.\n1 – 2pm:               LMA Intro and General Archives skills (handling\, organising\, caring) \n2 – 2.30pm:         Behind the scenes tour \n2.30 – 2.45pm:   Break \n2.45 – 4pm           Hands on Document Viewing\, Cataloguing\, questions \nThe afternoon starts with an introduction into the LMA and what archiving is all about; there will be object handling and an overview of different archiving proesses and techniques\, focusing on community heritage. \nTraining participants are invited to hone their skills hands-on and help the project team catalogue and deposit the LLP collection at the LMA\, thus ensuring the preservation of its legacy for future generations. \nFor more information and to apply\, please contact Project Manager Shaan Knan on lilyslegacyproject@liberaljudaism.org. \nLily’s Legacy: The Radical History and Heritage of Liberal Judaism in Britain has been running since November 2018\, examining how The Liberal Jewish Movement embodies the vision of its founders – Lily Montagu\, Claude Montefiore and Rabbi Dr Israel Mattuck – both today and throughout its history. \nEveryone welcome! \nDue to venue Covid restrictions\, numbers are strictly limited; small group only. \nUnless exempt\, we will all be wearing face coverings during the behind the scenes tour \n
