Lilys Legacy Archive Skills Training

FreeThe Lily’s Legacy Project offers you an exciting training opportunity in its final phase:
London Metropolitan Archives (LMA) Senior Archivists invite you to a half-day archive skills training for volunteers on 18 November.
1 – 2pm: LMA Intro and General Archives skills (handling, organising, caring)
2 – 2.30pm: Behind the scenes tour
2.30 – 2.45pm: Break
2.45 – 4pm Hands on Document Viewing, Cataloguing, questions
The afternoon starts with an introduction into the LMA and what archiving is all about; there will be object handling and an overview of different archiving proesses and techniques, focusing on community heritage.
Training participants are invited to hone their skills hands-on and help the project team catalogue and deposit the LLP collection at the LMA, thus ensuring the preservation of its legacy for future generations.

Lily’s Legacy: The Radical History and Heritage of Liberal Judaism in Britain has been running since November 2018, examining how The Liberal Jewish Movement embodies the vision of its founders – Lily Montagu, Claude Montefiore and Rabbi Dr Israel Mattuck – both today and throughout its history.
