Lily’s Legacy at Home – Telling our Liberal Jewish Stories online
Lily’s Legacy invites you to participate in our landmark oral history and archive project from the comfort of your home.
All you’ll need is an internet connection and a device that allows you to use Zoom (or similar audio/video communication platforms).
This is how you and your congregation can take part (until early May 20):
- Community heritage: Organise with us a heritage event where your Liberal community joins an online workshop where congregants can share their LJ experiences and stories. With permission, we’ll record some of these stories audio (or video).
- Individual voices: we’re still looking to record a range of diverse Liberal Jewish stories and experiences – covering everyone from long-standing members to the new generation.
- Memorabilia: We digitally document items (e.g. photos) that illustrate UK Liberal Jewish life past and present.
The Lily’s Legacy multi-media online exhibition will launch at this year’s Liberal Judaism Biennial Weekend in May. The collection will then be deposited at the London Metropolitan Archives as well as in local and LJ community archives.
